The Executive Director is responsible for delivering the results of the BCCVB strategic and operational goals. They are accountable for the day-to-day operations of the Brown County Convention & Visitors Bureau. This position consistently provides the leadership and framework of the BCCVB goals as established and adopted by the Board of Directors. This role will champion the BCCVB Mission, Vision, and Values to set the tone and pace with the entire organization with key stakeholders and in the community.
Serve as liaison between the BCCVB organization and its Board of Directors.
Working with the board, set annual goals with measurements and deliver the business results needed
to achieve those goals.
Develop annual budget for board submission and approval by the CVC.
Develop, oversee, and execute with results the overall marketing plan for BCCVB.
Oversee BCCVB assets – intellectual and physical (including website, social media platforms, etc.)
Develop, review, purchase and distribute advertising, marketing programs and associated collateral,
write and disseminate press releases.
Oversee the Hoosier Hills Scenic Byway Program for Brown County.
Manage promotions and public relations strategies and tactics.
Plan, partner and execute on key approved events to drive tourism and sense of community.
Lead and manage the employees of the BCCVB.
Gather, understand, interpret, and present the economic impact of tourism for Brown County.
Collaborate and influence with local and state entities to promote and drive tourism for Brown County.
Regularly report out results against goals outlining any challenges with proposed solutions.
Develop and maintain healthy partnerships with the Chamber, Nashville Mainstreet, other Tourism
Commissions, and organizations at the local, state, and regional level.
Attend approved industry conferences and trade shows, establish professional networks, etc.
Attend meetings, seminars, conventions, and workshops to further tourism knowledge. Stay informed
of the changes in the tourism industry, and consistently attend Indiana Destination Development
Work directly with the board on policymaking, organization strategies, and community leadership.
Network with tourism partners.
